Install Their Officers With Proper Ceremonies

List Of Officers Installed

The officers of Merced Lodge, No. 208, I.O.O.F., were installed on Saturday evening, Jan. 6, 1900, by D.D.G.M. Henry LATOUR, assisted by Thomas MAXFIELD, G.M. The following officers were duly installed: P. G., A. H. SCOFIELD; Rec. Sec’y, W. B. CROOP; Fin. Sec’y, L. H. BRADLEY; Treasurer, A. ROSENTHAL; War., G. W. ATWOOD; Con., C. H. MARKS; I. G., H.J. OSTRANDER; O. G., Geo. KLEINLEIN; R. S. N. G., C. F. HUNTER; L. S. N. G., J. G. ELLIOTT; L. S. V. G., J. A. SPURGIN; R. S. S., L. A. MANCHESTER, L. S. S., P. S. CROOP.

After the installation ceremonies all partook of a sumptuous banquet in the hall, and after doing ample justice to the good things provided all were entertained and we trust benefited by stirring addresses by a number of the eloquent brothers present.

Corona Rebekah Lodge No. 129 I.O.O.F., held a public installation at the K. of P. Hall on Friday evening Jan. 12, 1900. The following officers were duly installed into their respective offices by Deputy Grand President Mrs. M.E. HAWKINS: V. g. Mrs. Ollie LEGGETT, Fin. Sec. C. H. LEGGETT, Tres. Edith PHELPS; R.S.V.G., Mrs. Anna NAPIER; L.S.V.G., Mrs. Jennie CORWIN.

Mrs. Eleanor BICKFORD, N.G. elect, being to ill to attend, was not installed, nor were any of her appointed officers. The secretary elect, being present N.G., could not be installed either, consequently the ceremonies were short.

A large number of Rebekahs, Odd Fellows and their invited guests were present and after the installation ceremony all were entertained by a short but well rendered musical program which was furnished by Mrs. Emma SCOFIELD assisted by a number of high school pupils and Miss Jesse PECK and U.O. ABELL. After the musical program all present, numbering about 150, were served with refreshments, and the evening’s amusement concluded with music and dancing which was enjoyed by old and young.
