Death of Jesse S. Hail
Jesse S. Hail, a pioneer resident of Merced county, died very suddenly of heart trouble at his home at Sandy Mush Saturday afternoon at five o'clock.
Mr. Hail would have been sixty-eight years of age next June. He was a native of Green Co., Missouri. He came to California in the year 1857. In 1869 he was married to Miss Sarah Mull. To them were born five sons who survive their father and two daughters, both of whom are dead.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. James Miles Webb Monday afternoon at Plainsburg, where the interment took place. Mr. Hail was a useful citizen and an honest man. He was a member of the Merced Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
