SMITH ACKER IN RACE

The announcement of Smith Acker of Volta as a candidate for the office of Auditor of Merced county is published in this issue of the Express. Mr. Acker was born and raised in Merced county and for the past seven years has been engaged in teaching at Volta. He is qualified in every respect to satisfactorily discharge the duties of the position to which he aspires and is exceptionally popular especially in the West Side section of the county. He states that he will make an active campaign for the office and is confident of success at the polls.
