Obituaries

 

Grady Velmer Brookin

 

 Funeral services for Grady Velmer Brookin, 35, a resident of Merced from 1934 to 1948 (could be 1943), will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Hann Brothers Chapel. Rev. Donald H. Baldwin will officiate.

 

 Mr. Brookin was electrocuted in a shop accident in Hugo, Okla., last Saturday.

 

 Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Brookin of Hugo, son Herbert and daughter Shirley, also of Hugo; brothers Garry of Ceres and H. O. of Merced; and sister Mrs. Gertha Zuercher of Merced.

 

 Mr. Brookin served in the U. S. Coast Guard from 1935 to 1937 and in the U. S. Army during World War II.

 

 He was born in Safford, Ariz.
