CALLED BY DEATH.

Mrs. Effie Anderson, aged 81 years, died at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Thomas Skelton in La Grand last Friday after an illness of several weeks. Deceased was one of the pioneers of the state coming to California with her parents form Missouri in 1850. She was a daughter of Nicholas Turner, who at one time was one of the big land owners of that section and she has resided in that section for 64 years and was beloved by everyone, both old and young.

She was married in the early days to Thomas Anderson and one child, a daughter, Mrs. Clara Ogle, now deceased, was born to the union. Among her living relatives are four grand children and several nephews and nieces and great
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon and she was buried in the
Turner cemetery near La Grand
