Dr. F. R. Henderson
Snelling -- Last rites will be conducted in Merced Friday for Dr. Frank R. Henderson, who served Merced County for almost a quarter century, first as supervisor and later as superintendent of the county hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. in the Ivers and Alcorn Mission Chapel. The Rev. Charles Hoffmeister of the Central Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Dr. Henderson, who retired in 1946, died Tuesday at his home here at the age of 84.
Snelling's Henderson Park was named in his honor.
He leaves a brother, Everett of Sebastopol; two grandchildren, William Henderson of Los Angeles and Darlene Carter of Stockton; two nephews; Allen A. Henderson of Merced and Harold Murphy of San Francisco, a niece, Helen Murphy of San Francisco, and four great-grandchildren.
