Edmund Russell, a prominent pioneer, farmer and stock raiser, died at his home near Plainsburg, aged 74 years. He was a native of Tennessee, and had been a resident of California, since 1852.
Besides his widow, six children survive, namely, E. T. Russell of Lodi, Rev. O. L. Russell of Modesto, J. E. and G. I. Russell of Merced, Mrs. Claude Ritchey of Athlon and Miss Amy Russell of Merced. Deceased was a man highly esteemed for his strict integrity and other virtues.
