Death of Mrs. Walsh
Mrs. Ellen Walsh, the aged mother of James Cary, a well known employee of the Barcroft Co., passed into the final sleep at the home of her son on Twentieth street yesterday morning at 8 o'clock, from general debility.
Mrs. Walsh was born at Thomastown, Kilkenny Co., Ireland, in 1838.
About three years ago she came to this country to reside with her children, who had preceded her, some by many years.
Less than a year ago she came to Merced from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Palmer, at Sonora.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 10 o'clock a.m., from the mortuary parlors on Main street and interment will be in the Druid's cemetery, Rev. James Miles Webb officiating.
Besides those already mentioned Mrs. Walsh leaves two sons and three daughters, John Cary, of Sonora; Patrick Cary, of Ireland; Mrs. Ellen Reed, of Stanten Island, N.J., and Mrs. Gaul and Miss Margaret Walsh of Pitsfield, Massachusettes, also a sister, Mrs. Wm. K. Rushing of Knight's Ferry and one brother, Thomas Dobbins of Bridgeport.
